good standing

What is a member in good standing?

"Good standing" is not a term that is defined or used in the Community Association Act, Condo Act or Nonprofit Act but is sometimes used in governing documents to prohibit members that are not in good standing from voting or serving on the board.  In such cases, good standing usually means a member who is current in payment of assessments and not in violation of the governing documents, but the specific definition in the governing document is the definition that applies.

Regarding suspension of membership rights, see Index, suspending membership.
