An association has many duties and obligations.  Certain duties must be done each year, as described in Index, annual obligations of associations.  Some duties are triggered by a request of an owner, a change in association business, or an action of the board, and others are affirmative duties that must be carried out proactively by a board, without a direct trigger (such as the requirement to obtain association property and liability insurance, or to keep a reserve fund separate from other funds).  These are discussed in Index, obligations of comm, ass'n, affimative.
